Both of the company has their own reputation. don't just go for brands instead go for config. Cause sometime these giants will create a messed up config laptop.

During windows 7 or below installing time you need driver to complete installation.
hp will give you free access to downloading driver for hp devices.

HP is the best company when it comes to Laptop. Go for HP instead of Dell. I am using one at my office for almost 4 years now!
